ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) is an internationally recognised course which will give you a good working knowledge of computing. The course has seven modules:
- basic concepts of IT
- using the computer and managing files
- word processing
- spreadsheets
- database
- presentation
- information and communication
Getting the qualification
Renfrewshire libraries offer ECDL as an online learning course which can be studied at the library or from any computer with internet access. In order to achieve the ECDL qualification you must first pass a test for each of the seven of the modules listed above.

Course Fee
Course modules cost £3.50 each and are valid for three months.
Tests and any resits required cost £5.00 each
To sit the ECDL tests you need an ECDL registration or a valid logbook, an ECDL registration costs £25.00.
You can buy more than one module at a time and can study the modules in any order. Once we have recieved your payment we will create your learning account. We will e-mail you with a student ID and password along with instructions on how to access the course, this will normally happen within two working days.
