Walking routes to schools

Home > Services > Education and learning > Information for parents

Renfrewshire Council operates a home to school transport policy, and information about this policy is available on the Home to school transport webpage.

With effect from August 2010, Renfrewshire Council revised its policy on home to school transport for secondary aged pupils from 2 miles to 3 miles. As a result, safe walking routes were identified for the schools affected and have been published on our website.

Walking route assessments are provided by planning and transport services in line with the
Adobe Acrobat PDF iconPolicy on assessment of safe walking routes (pdf - 23KB).

Some schools have a large number of safe walking routes assessments covering a number of different routes to the school.

You need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view these documents. Download Acrobat Reader. Warning! Some of these documents may take some time to download due to the large file sizes.
