Young people reading poetry
Over the past few months Renfrewshire libraries have been running a new initiative called 'Project Slammin'. This innovative project has been developed to encourage teenagers, who don't use the library, to engage in reading, poetry and ICT.

Two groups of young people already involved in 'Project Slammin' attended the Open Mic Night at Glenburn GoZone last month, hosted by Robin Cairns. The groups, who meet at Ferguslie Park and Glenburn Library, read poetry at this live event.

As part of the project, performance poet Anita Govan visited our libraries, and in November, author Linda Strachan will visit both Slammin' groups
