Speedy Scribble

Over the past few months, Out of School Learning (OSL), have been working with some of the children from St James's and Mossvale Primary schools. The children have been learning to use professional equipment to make animations the same way Wallace and Gromit are made. We paid a visit to Ferguslie Library to see how they were getting on.
- At first they drew pictures and learned how to make them look as though they were moving
- Then they drew and coloured their names, and cut them out
- Then they added backgrounds.
- They used a video camera to take pictures, in every picture an object moved a little
All the hard work soon paid off as they speedily scribbled away, when the pictures were played in a series on a laptop they looked as though the letters were moving!
It was very impressive and professional.
Here's what the children had to say:-
- "I'm having a great time!"
- "Making the flipbooks was fun!"
- "I'm enjoying all of it!"
- "I found out how to draw people and animals"
- "Drawing and cutting out our names was hard"
- "The best part was watching our animations on the laptop! I can't wait to tell all my friends about it! I would like to do this after school again."
