Paisley Museum holds an extensive archaeological collections of local objects, from prehistoric through to Roman and medieval artefacts. We also have objects from farther afield, including our current display - Life and Death in Ancient Egypt.
Our fascination with Ancient Egypt is as strong today as it was in the heyday of collecting and discovery in the 1920's. The display examines the every day lives of this fascinating civilisation as well as their intriguing burial practices.
Other archaeological displays include one of the museum's most important objects - a carving of the ancient Babylonian god Nisroch which is over 3,000 years old.
