Legend of the Guardians: The owls of Ga'Hoole is the story of Soren, a young barn owl who is kidnapped by the owls of St Aggie's, ostensibly an orphanage, where owlets are brainwashed into becoming soldiers. He and his new friends escape to the island of Ga'Hoole, to assist its noble, wise owls who fight the army being created by the wicked rulers of St Aggie's. The film is based on the first three books in the series by
Kathryn Lasky.
Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer was released in 2011. This summer, third grader Judy Moody is planning the most super-duper, double-rare summer vacation ever with best friends Rocky
and Amy. Except that it turns out Rocky is going to circus camp to learn to tame lions, and Amy is headed off to Borneo with her mum to save a lost tribe while Judy stays at home with her pesky little brother Stink. This book is based on the series about Judy Moody by Megan McDonald.
We're at the end now. Part one of
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the last in the series, was released in November 2010. Part two was released in July 2011. Harry has been burdened with the task of locating and destroying Voldemort's remaining Horcruxes, the only way to defeat the dark lord.

The Eagle was released earlier this year. The story is set in Roman Britain and tells the tale of the disappearance of four thousand men, members of the Ninth Legion, who marched into the mists of northern Britain. It's a mystery that's never been solved, until now... Marcus has to find out what happened to his father, who led the legion. So he sets out into the unknown, on a quest so dangerous that nobody expects him to return. The film is based on the book The Eagle of the Ninth by Rosemary Sutcliffe.
War Horse, released in January 2012, is about the imaginary story of a young boy's desperate search for his horse in the killing fields of France. The film is directed by Steven Spielberg and is based on the book War Horse by Michael Morpurgo.
