Aileen Paterson

Aileen Paterson is the author and illustrator of the Maisie books. Maisie is a kitten who lives with her Granny in Morningside, Edinburgh, and gets up to all sorts of mischief. Maisie is a well travelled kitten visiting New York, Japan and Hollywood as well as digging up the past and exploring the rainforest. Maisie has also been on TV in the animated series MEEOW.


Aileen was an art teacher, potter and craft worker before she became a writer. She now writes and illustrates books for children. She has 6 children, can't do maths, loves cats, music, food, gardening, books and people who make her laugh.
