New sports clubs for children and young people

Active Schools have three new clubs for children and young people to participate in.

Football Club
In partnership with St. Mirren Football Club we have set up a new community club for children with additional support needs. Visit the St. Mirren website for more details.

  • Venue: Paisley Grammar School.

Tae Kwon Do Club
Johnstone Black Belt Academy are providing opportunities in Tae Kwon Do. They are offering specific classes to children with physical and learning disabilities.

  • Time: 7.00pm - 8.00pm
  • Venue: Russell Street, Johnstone


Hockey Club
Hockey stick and ball
The Scottish Hockey Union now has a hockey development officer in Renfrewshire Council to increase the number of children and young people playing hockey. In partnership with Kelburne, Anchor and Ferguslie Ladies hockey clubs, we have set up three new clubs.
