- Ringing the changes in civil ceremonies
Citizenship ceremonies
An applicant for naturalisation or registration as a British citizen must take a citizenship oath or affirmation and pledge at a citizenship ceremony. Applicants must be aged 18 years or older. The ceremonies are conducted by the council's registration service staff.
Civil partnerships
Same sex couples can now arrange for their partnership to be formally registered by a registrar. The registration process may provide access to a range of benefits, pension and other rights previously unavailable to same sex partners.
For more information about any of these services, please email: registrar.cs@renfrewshire.gov.uk.
