About the scheme
The council runs a senior citizens' outing and voucher scheme.
This unique scheme is open to all Renfrewshire residents who are over 70 or who have a 70th birthday before 31 December 2008. Partners of those who qualify are automatically eligible for the scheme even if they aren't 70 years old themselves.
The 2008 scheme offers senior citizens the choice of:
- a gift voucher worth £22
- a credit to account (council tax or housing rent) worth £22
- a council run coach outing to Ayr or Dunoon during May
- a sail on the 'Waverley' including high tea on board using the council gift voucher
