Anyone considering the purchase of a house or other property needs to know if the Council has any proposals, legal orders or notices that would affect them or their interest in the property.

The Council can provide a property enquiry certificate which confirms the status of the property from its original records. Requests are usually made by solicitors after the property is subject to an offer and because of the tight timescales involved the aim is to provide the service within five working days of the enquiry being received.
