Children's panel - members' expenses

Home > Services > Council and Government > Children's Panel

It is recognised that many Children's panel members make a sacrifice by giving up their time for panel duty. For this reason, expenses are paid to members to cover their travel costs. Where members spend time on panel duty for longer than specified periods, they also qualify for subsistence payments. Employed panel members can claim for loss of wages for the period of time they spend away from their work. Special rates apply to shift workers. Expenses claims are based on actual loss of wages rather than potential losses and there are maximum amounts that can be claimed.
