Exclusions from panel membership

Building blocks spelling kids
People who are professionally involved in the children's panel hearing system in Renfrewshire, or who have an interest in carrying out the decisions of the panel, cannot apply for membership within Renfrewshire.

Examples of people not eligible include:
  • social workers,
  • police officers, and
  • residential carers at children's establishments.
Justices of the Peace who sit in the district court are also considered to have a conflict of interest.

Applicants under 18 are also ineligible.
