Community council constitution

All community councils have a constitution which is unique to them and sets out the rules by which they operate.

It is recommended that you get a copy of your community council's constitution from the secretary so that you can make yourself familiar with its rules. It is also useful to obtain a list of all the other community council members and their contact details.

Community councils are voluntary organisations and are entitled to raise funds or apply for grants to other bodies, including the local authority so long as their constitutions allow.
