To change your vehicle, you need to complete and pay for a change of vehicle application. Your new vehicle must meet certain standards (see guidance notes below) and we strongly recommend that you consult with us before you agree to buy your new vehicle.

Before making your change of vehicle application, you need to arrange for a vehicle inpection. To arrange this inspection, please go to Customer Service Centre, Renfrewshire House, Cotton Street, Paisley. You need to bring the vehicle registration document with you to book the vehicle in for the inspection. You need to pay for the inspection at time of booking. You can check the current inspection fee by phoning 0141 842 4445.

After the inspection, go to the Customer Service Centre and hand in your change of vehicle application together with the vehicle documents. For a detailed list of the necessary documents, please see Appendix I on the last page of the guidance notes.

To apply for a change of vehicle,download, complete and return the application form with the appropriate application fee to the Customer Service Centre at the address below. Please do not email your application form.
