The Renfrewshire Council area lies within the Scottish parliamentary constituencies of Paisley North, Paisley South and West Renfrewshire, each of which elects directly a member of the Scottish parliament. In addition, Renfrewshire lies within the larger West of Scotland region which elects a further seven regional list MSPs using a form of proportional representation.

Both types of MSPs, constituency and regional, have equal status in the Scottish parliament.

For more information on the Scottish parliament, see our list of MSPs and Regional MSPs below, or visit the Scottish parliament website.
