For European parliamentary purposes, Scotland is considered to be a single regional constituency which elects six MEPs to the European parliament. At election time, the votes cast in Renfrewshire are aggregated with the votes of the rest of Scotland to elect the six MEPs any of whom may be contacted by residents on European parliamentary matters.
