The tenant ballot to decide on the future of Renfrewshire Council’s housing is now underway. All Council tenants have now received their voting papers asking them to decide if the Council’s housing will transfer to the not-for-profit Renfrewshire Housing Association Limited (RHA). If you haven’t used your vote yet, there is still time left.
You have until noon on Tuesday, 17 October to cast your vote, using one of three voting methods. It really couldn’t be easier – and you don’t even need to leave your home. You can vote:
- by post using the pre-paid envelope enclosed with your ballot paper
- by phone using the two-part security code which is displayed on your ballot paper
- on the Internet by logging on to the website set up purely for this ballot, and using the two-part security code which is displayed on your ballot paper.
If you intend to vote by telephone or Internet, you can vote right up until the noon deadline on 17 October.
Councillor Iain McMillan, Renfrewshire Council’s housing spokesperson, said, “The time has now come for our tenants to decide on the future of their homes. The Council feels that RHA’s proposals are the best way forward, but the decision has to be taken by those whom it will affect most – our tenants. We’ve made phone and Internet options available to help ensure that as many tenants as possible vote. I would strongly urge all tenants to use their vote, please don’t waste it.”
If you’ve mislaid your ballot paper, or if you haven’t received one yet, please contact Renfrewshire Council on 0800 032 9930 and we will request a replacement from the ballot company.
Don’t let others decide for you. Please use your vote.
