In a drive to make this Christmas safer, Renfrewshire Council trading standards staff will be carrying out free Christmas lights testing for all Renfrewshire residents.

A Renfrewshire Council spokesperson said: “Before you use your Christmas lights this year phone trading standards on 0141 840 3429. Broken or faulty Christmas lights can be very dangerous, so before you put your lights up this year make sure you take advantage of our free Christmas lights safety check.”

Testing will be carried out up to and including Friday 15 December 2006.
