Glasgow Airport domestic security search upgrade
Home > News and Events > News - release archive > 2006 > November
BAA Glasgow is working hard to create the best possible experience for passengers through a multi-million pound investment programme.
As part of this ongoing investment, an essential upgrade of the domestic search area will begin this month, resulting in the temporary closure of the facility from 6 November to 30 November 2006. This upgrade will allow the airport to trial new technology and new security processes, as part of a wider package of security enhancements.
During this time, some domestic passengers will be re-routed through the international search area. The route will be clearly signposted and additional staff will be in place at key points to advise passengers.
All domestic passengers are advised to check their boarding card after check-in. Passengers allocated Departure Gates 14-26 (the domestic pier) should proceed to international departures. Passengers allocated Departure Gates 1-12 (the low cost east pier commonly used by easyJet, Aer Lingus and Loganair) are not affected.
This re-route is designed to minimise disruption to departing passengers and make sure your journey through security during this short period of upgrade remains as quick and efficient as possible. There is no need for passengers to arrive at the airport any earlier than normal.
We thank passengers for their cooperation during this time.
