Are you blind or partially sighted? Renfrewshire Visually Impaired Forum (RVIF) has 34 members and is actively looking for more.
The RVIF is an independent non political group who campaign to further the rights of blind and partially sighted Renfrewshire residents. In this role, they work closely with Renfrewshire Access Panel and Renfrewshire Council. The forum also has a social side and organises events such as annual bus outings, quiz nights and a Christmas dinner.
Meeting dates
The forum have a drop-in meeting every Monday (except for the first Monday of the month) between 2pm and 4pm at the Y.M.C.A., 5 New Street, Paisley.
Nine monthly meetings are held throughout the year (no meetings in January, July and August) between 7pm and 9pm at the Disability Resource Centre, 74 Love Street ,Paisley. Transport is arranged for all forum members at the monthly meetings.
Vision Awareness Day: 19 April 2007
On Thursday, 19 April 2007, the forum held a very well attended open day in Paisley Town Hall.
Guest speakers included TV and radio presenter Shereen Nanjiani whose father was formerly an eye surgeon at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.
