Mark Stevenson receiving the cheque from Reid Kerr students
Hairdressing students from Reid Kerr College were a cut above the rest recently when they put on a great display at their end of year competition.

Students from Access to HNC, SVQ Levels 2 and 3 put on a dazzling display of great looks which were judged and awarded a number of prizes for their work.

Lecturer in hairdressing Laurie Jamieson commented, “Students from different hairdressing programmes came together and delivered a terrific event. The students worked very hard and produced some amazing results.”

Awards were given for 'most creative student', 'outstanding achievement' and 'student of the year'. The ‘Fest Fantasia’ show raised over £800 for charity and the money went to the Scottish Burned Children’s Club (SBCC). Mark Stevenson from the club attended the event and said, “This was a talented and impressive event. The funds raised will go directly to the children at the forthcoming summer camp, where the children learn to regain confidence and build self-esteem. We are always impressed with the college’s fundraising efforts and on behalf of the children and volunteers of the SBCC we would like to say, Thank You.”
