Fred Hay being presented with gift by Councillor John Kenny
Fred Hay, has stepped down from Renfrewshire’s Education Trust after 23 years.

Born and bred in Paisley and still resident here, Fred Hay has been a member of staff of Glasgow University since 1966 and represented the University on the Board of Governors of the Renfrewshire Educational Trust.


Fred has taken early retirement from the University and therefore is retiring from his work with the Trust. In retiral Fred will be busy developing the Paisley Choral Festival which brings recognition to Paisley and aids in its regeneration.

Fred Hay said, "It has been an enjoyable experience, helping the Trust to provide financial support to students from the area".

Councillor John Kenny, Chair of Renfrewshire Educational Trust, was on hand to thank Fred for his loyal service over the years and present a commemorative gift on behalf of the Council. He said : “I would like to thank Fred Hay for his hard and loyal service over the last 23 years. He has been an important figure in the Board of Governors of the Renfrewshire Trust, and will be greatly missed. I would like to wish him a long and happy retirement on behalf of the Council and the local area.”
