Businesses in Renfrewshire are being urged to review their contingency and continuity plans following the recent spate of bad weather across the country.
Business Gateway, the national business advice service, believes that the recent bad weather highlights the need for businesses to be prepared for the unexpected.
Following weeks of heavy snow and freezing temperatures which have caused problems for businesses up and down the country, companies in Renfrewshire are being encouraged to visit the Business Gateway website for advice on contingency planning, crisis management and to find out how to prepare for situations that could have significant impact on their day-to-day business activities.
Allan Blackley from Business Gateway in Renfrewshire said: "Planning for the unexpected has always been good business practice but the recent poor weather simply highlights the importance of having contingency plans in place to minimise the impact on businesses when something unexpected happens.
"The Business Gateway website has interactive tools that will help assess and minimise the risks to their business caused by unforeseen circumstances such as the flooding, excessive snowfall and even the outbreak of swine flu we’ve recently experienced."
