The World Health Organisation and world governments are monitoring the development of swine flu.
Work is on-going to disrupt and slow the spread of the virus. The NHS is advising anyone who is concerned and presenting with flu-like symptoms and who have either a travel related onset of the symptoms or had close contact with a confirmed case to stay at home to contact their local GP or NHS 24 on 0845 4 24 24 24.
Education and schools - public health guidance
Attached is the letter issued to parents/guardians with children attending schools and nurseries. It explains the NHS policy regarding school closures and the issue of Tamiflu to children.
