Staff from the international office at Reid Kerr College recently returned from a visit to Chandigarh in India. Hazel Mulberry, the College’s International Manager and Sandy Nelson, Operations Director met with students and their families, to celebrate the annual presentation of awards, for students who have completed their studies at Reid Kerr and Kazembe College of Electronic Engineering in Chandigarh.
Sandy Nelson said, “Nine students completed their studies in 2008, and were accompanied by their parents for the presentation, many travelling over 200 miles to attend. Reid Kerr and Kazembe College of Electronic Engineering was opened in August 2004, to train electronic engineers for local industries in North West India. The College, based in Chandigarh, is a partnership between Reid Kerr and private sector partners in India.
"To-date, over 40 bright young students have successfully completed their first year studies in India and we are looking forward to welcoming the fourth group of students from the programme, who will be arriving in Paisley this month, to enrol on a two year full time HND Electronics programme at our Renfrew Road Campus.”
Former students, who continued with their education following the HND at Reid Kerr College, have now graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University and are hoping to find work for the next two years in Scotland, under the Scottish Government’s Fresh Talent Working in Scotland Scheme.
