Corporate governance is the system councils use to direct and control what they do and relate to their communities.
It is about ensuring councils do the right things, in the right way and for the right people. It is also about making sure things are done in a timely, inclusive, open, honest and accountable manner.
Renfrewshire Council updated its local code of corporate governance in March 2008.
