Health care student Kerry McGroarty has just set off on a trip of a life-time that will see her working in South Africa for 10 weeks, as part of the Global Youth Volunteering Programme.
Kerry, 18 from Glasgow decided to take up the challenge of working alongside other 18-25 year olds, volunteering in a developing country to make a real difference to the community.
She will be working on projects such as constructing community buildings, developing leisure areas for local communities and caring for and teaching children in orphanages and schools.
The Care department organised a car boot sale to help fund her trip to Africa and the event raised over £200. Everyone wishes Kerry well on her adventure.
