The £15,000 was raised through the choir's performances, donations and fund-raising events.
Renfrewshire Council raised around £1200 by holding a dress down day during which staff made a donation in order to wear casual clothes to work.
Enterprising pupils at St Catherine’s Primary school in Paisley also raised funds by holding a carwash.
Maureen McIntyre, founder of the Samson Chivatsi Children's Appeal, said: "Both the children and their teachers were overwhelmed at the way people in Renfrewshire welcomed them and took them into their hearts. They enjoyed so many great experiences and made new friends during their stay and can't wait to return again next year."
Provost Celia Lawson said: "I am delighted that people in Renfrewshire have helped to raise such an impressive amount for the Singing Children of Africa. I'm sure everyone who got the opportunity to meet them and hear them sing will have been moved by their beautiful voices and wonderful personalities. I'd like to thank all of the people who have helped raise funds and make this the trip of a lifetime for them and I look forward to welcoming them back next year"”
