Are you currently unemployed?
Reid Kerr College, in conjunction with Renfrewshire Social Work are running a free 12 week course for people who are seeking employment as a home care worker. The course will run 2 days per week from 9.30am – 4.00pm, starts on Monday 15 September 2008 and will include a range of subjects including first aid, personal care and communications.
On successful completion of the course applicants will be given a guaranteed interview with Renfrewshire Social Work Department for employment as a home care worker.
Senior lecturer, Maureen Macpherson says, "This course has been highly successful with former students gaining a number of employability skills. Many of our former candidates have gained employment either within Renfrewshire Social Work or other care establishments and some have decided to continue with their education at Reid Kerr College."
An information event is being held on Wednesday 27 August from 1.30pm in the Renfrew North Lecture Theatre at Reid Kerr College.
