A certificate presentation for students recently took place at Reid Kerr Ferguslie Learning Centre. The students were awarded their certificates after completing a National Certificate (NC) Working with Communities based at the centre.

The 1-year part-time programme aims to provide students with the knowledge and experience on various aspects of community work including, Communication, Introduction to People & Society and Community Work Induction.

Seven candidates successfully completed their NC Working with Communities course and Elaine Bain, Community Liaison Officer presented them with their certificates. Elaine said, “We are delighted that some of the candidates have taken up employment as a result of their new qualification and that some are returning to college to complete the Higher National Certificate (HNC) this year. This 1 year full-time course provides students with further development in working within the community and includes course subjects such as Workplace Practise, Adult Learning, Working with Young People and Social Science Approaches.”
