Last year, Renfrewshire Council raised a fantastic £3000 and we are delighted to announce that the whole of Renfrewshire Council are supporting Radio Clyde's Cash for Kids appeal again this year by taking part in 'The Big Day Off’.
Richard Devlin – Clyde Action and Radio Clyde Cash for Kids presenter/producer said:
“It’s great to have Renfrewshire Council on board for Radio Clyde’s Cash for Kids. They’ve been long-term supporters of the appeal, but this is the first year that every department has taken part. I wish each of Renfrewshire Council’s ‘Big Day Off’ winners the very best of luck in the Grand Prize Draw to win our holiday to Tunisia, and thank them all for their support to help underprivileged children in Glasgow and the West get the Christmas they deserve.”
A Renfrewshire Council spokesperson said:
“We are delighted to be able to support Radio Clyde’s Cash for Kids ‘Big Day Off’ appeal. Our staff enjoy taking part in the appeal, as in addition to raising money for this worthwhile charity they also get the chance of winning an extra day's holiday. We are now aiming to beat last year’s target where we raised £3000 for the ‘Big Day Off’”.
Background behind ‘Big Day Off’ supported by Eden
Employees all over Glasgow and the West have been persuading their bosses to donate a paid day off work then raffling it within their company, in this fundraiser sponsored by Eden. The suggested amount is £1 per ticket. In addition to winning a day’s holiday, each workplace winner is entered into a prize draw to win a fantastic week-long, half-board holiday for two in Tunisia donated by Barrhead Travel.
The prize draw will take place live on Clyde 1 and Clyde 2 on Thursday, 21 December. To enter, contact a member of the Cash for Kids team as all workplace winners’ details must be received by 20 December.
