Foxbar Library in Ivanhoe Road, Paisley is set to become an Aladdin’s cave for kids on Tuesday 4 September when Renfrewshire Council’s toy library moves there from its current home at Glenburn community centre.
Young children and their parents and carers are invited to attend an open day to mark the event. The open day will be launched at 11am by councillor Eileen McCartin, convener of the community and family care board.
A life-size, Bookstart Bear mascot will be welcoming visitors and there will be storytelling and refreshments available all day.
Councillor McCartin said, “The toy library is chiefly about children having fun and has a huge collection of toys, games and puzzles. It also offers parents a chance to ‘try before they buy’.
“Toys play an important role in learning and the collection is designed to promote skills such as imaginative play and hand/eye co-ordination as well. The toy library also has a wide selection for children with special learning needs and trained staff are on hand to help parents and carers choose toys that match their child’s abilities.”
