Did you know that many other public sector organisations often carry out consultations to find out the views of the general public? Many of these could apply to you and impact on your daily life without you even knowing about it. For example in 2004, the Scottish Government ran a consultation exercise about a proposed smoking ban, which now affects every person living in or visiting Scotland.

- The Scottish Government have launched an online discussion paper on tackling alcohol abuse. Comments on their document Changing Scotland's Relationship with Alcohol are now being taken.
- GreenSTAT - a national consultation which gives people the opportunity to comment on the quality of their local parks and open spaces as part of the Million Voices campaign, which is organised by the charity Greenspace.
- Renfrewshire Environmental Trust is a Paisley based charity. They are considering expanding access to locally grown fruit and vegetables and are looking for feedback on their ideas for a home delivery service.
