Shona MacDougall - Director of Environmental Services
The Director also contributes to the development of Council wide policies and initiatives as part of the corporate management team and maintains effective working relationships with our partners and other external organisations to deliver services throughout Renfrewshire.
Environmental Services employs approximately 1,700 employees on a full-time or part-time basis and, in 2008/09, manages a gross revenue budget of £42.2 million. Following a recent internal restructuring the service is organised into two divisions:
- Operations
- Resource services
Robert Steenson - Head of Operations
Amenity Services: management and delivery of waste management services, street scene including parks, play areas and cemeteries and vehicle maintenance and transport.
Site Services: catering, cleaning, janitorial, school crossing patrollers and contract monitoring and compliance.
Regulatory Services:
- Environmental Protection – environmental quality, public health, burials and cemeteries and sustainable communities.
- Consumer Protection – food safety, health and safety and trading standards.

David Walls - Head of Resource Services
The Head of Resource Services has a strategic remit which focuses on modernising, improvement and efficiency initiatives in Environmental Services. In this role, he is responsible for developing budget and service planning strategies for Environmental Services and ensuring that financial management and other service critical support systems and procedures are in place.
