Charlie McDade, Robert Brown MSP Glasgow and Deputy Minister of Education, Jean Rough and the Deputy Lord Provost, Christine Devine
Reid Kerr College was recognised for their support to the Children’s Panel recently when Senior Lecturer in Heath Care, Jean Rough and Head of Science Sport Health & Care, Charlie McDade, attended a Civic Reception hosted by the Lord Provost of Glasgow.

Jean has been dedicated to working on the Children’s panel for 27 years and was asked to invite her employer, Reid Kerr College, to attend the reception to mark the support and co-operation that Reid Kerr have provided over the years.

Jean and Charlie were honoured to attend the evening held at Glasgow City Chambers where they received a certificate to acknowledge their commitment as an employer. Charlie said, “The College in recognition of its continued commitment to support the work of the Children’s Hearing System is delighted to receive this recognition. The College fully supports the important work of the Children’s Hearing System and highly commends all staff who participate on a volunteer basis.”

Chair of Glasgow Children’s Panel, Christine MacKechnie welcomed the opportunity to recognise employers at the Civic Reception who support the system by giving Panel Members time off work to fulfil their duties to the vulnerable children and young people of the City.

Christine commented, “panel members are unpaid volunteers, and these committed members undergo extensive ongoing training in order to fulfil their commitment to Scotland’s youth justice system. This can only be achieved with the support of their employer.”
