It will be one big ‘Arty Party’ in Renfrewshire for the area's youngsters. Renfrewshire Council is hosting its first ever Art Party mini festival for pupils across Renfrewshire in P1 - P3.
Around 750 children are due to take part in the art extravaganza, which will run from 30 May to 9 June. Renfrewshire Council have lined up a whole host of arty workshops for the children to take part in from creative dance to drumming. Expert tutors from arts groups such as the Ricefield Centre for Chinese Arts and the Scottish Traditions of Dance Trust will visit the schools during the festival to encourage the children to get creative.
Councillor Roy Glen, Convener of Renfrewshire Council's Lifelong Learning and Work Policy Board, said: “I think Arty Party is a great idea. We believe you are never to young to learn, so to have an arts festival specially aimed at our younger pupils is marvellous. The arts festival has been specially co-ordinated to support the children's curriculum, so in addition to having fun they will also be learning vital skills that will assist in their learning.”
