Certificate success for adult learners

It’s top marks for Renfrewshire as over 1000 adults get set to receive their Community Learning and Development certificates.
The adults have all successfully passed a range of courses including English for Speakers of Other Languages, Introduction to Information Technology and Assertiveness. The courses, which lasted an average of 16 weeks were organised by Renfrewshire Council in partnership with Reid Kerr College.
The learning programme has proved popular with this years students as they have benefited personally and in terms of their careers.
A series of local certificate presentations are being held across Renfrewshire during the month of June to mark the success of community-based learning.
Councillor Roy Glen, Convener of Renfrewshire Council’s Lifelong Learning and Work Policy Board, said: “I would like to offer my congratulations to all those who have successfully passed the course.
“The programme’s popularity is further proof of the success of community-based adult learning in Renfrewshire. The attendance and achievement showed the benefits this approach is bringing to local communities.”
