Andrew’s course tutor Mr Stephen Deatcher said, "Andrew has been an excellent student with obvious talent from the start of this session. Winning this Scottish competition is an appropriate reward for all his efforts and the positive attitude he displays. Quite frankly he is a pleasure to teach."
Senior Lecturer in Brickwork, Tommy Reilly, said, "This is great news for Andrew who enjoyed the whole experience and for the staff within the Brickwork section who are doing a remarkable job. Andrew's tutor Stephen Deatcher deserves a special mention for the quality of his training. We are extremely proud of Andrew’s achievement, as are his employers with whom I have recently spoken. This is also an indication once again of how partnerships between the college and industry are contributing to the quality of the knowledge and skills base of the Scottish economy. Well done Andrew."
