The Council has two specialist teams to deal with complaints of neighbour nuisance and antisocial behaviour.
The Mediation team attempts to resolve neighbour disputes by involving all the neighbours in trying to resolve the conflict. You can download a leaflet explaining how the service works:

The Anti-Social Investigation Team (ASIST) deals with more serious anti-social behaviour cases. Investigation by the mediation team or ASIST resolves the majority of cases. However, if the problem persists, various legal options are then considered and pursued as necessary, including Anti Social Behaviour Orders (ASBOs) and eviction.
The Mediation and ASIST teams have close working relationships with Strathclyde Police, the social work department, drug and alcohol abuse agencies, medical professionals and many other internal and external agencies. This leads to a co-ordinated and effective approach to the resolution of complaints.
ASIST also has a number of specialist officers dealing with specific aspects of tackling antisocial behaviour:
- Youth Officers who deal with antisocial behaviour by young people.
- Private Sector Housing Officers who investigate complaints of antisocial behaviour against owner-occupiers or tenants of private landlords.
- Police Officers who liaise between ASIST and Strathclyde Police, provide information and monitor breaches of ASBOs.
- Mediators who act as an independent, neutral 3rd party to assist neighbours in resolving their disputes.
