Henry Kennedy on his visit to the Gambia
Henry Kennedy from the Built Environment Department at Reid Kerr College and his wife Mary recently returned to the Gambia in West Africa on holiday. As with their previous trips, Henry and Mary took supplies to the Lamin Daranka School, donating basic school supplies.

In the Gambia the government provides the school building and the parents must provide all other materials.

Prior to his trip Henry received donations from Reid Kerr College and his colleagues including a variety of supplies suited to the educational needs of the children. The Headmaster, Mr Kalipha Jobe, met them on their visit and was very enthusiastic about the donation, showing them round the school and introducing them to some of the children who would benefit from the supplies. It was explained that some of the children relied on donations to allow them to continue their education. Mary and Henry would like to thank Reid Kerr College and their colleagues for all their donations.
