Role Purpose: Responsible for the ongoing recruitment and retention of volunteers within the project(s). To make sure volunteers have a clear understanding of their role within the project and enjoy the experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- To liaise with the People Support (PSM) and Centre Managers (CM) around the recruitment and retention needs of the project.
- To work with the CM on interviewing prospective volunteers in line with WRVS procedure.
- To use local knowledge and contacts to advertise volunteering opportunities of the project. For example using publicity material in local areas such as health and community centres, GP's, dentists, etc.
- To develop a clear understanding of operational and volunteering issues.
- To work in an integrated manner with the PSM and CM to implement and deliver a volunteer recruitment and retention plan.
- To implement and deliver a record system of individual volunteers.
- To feedback to the CM and PSM any volunteer queries, which could be around dissatisfaction or positive aspects on working within the project.
- To assist with training and induction packages to volunteers as required.
- To liaise with both internal and external contacts and organisations to develop and implement volunteer recruitment opportunities.
- To develop and maintain positive relationships with volunteers and staff.
