Why not get your teeth into a new career at Reid Kerr College in Paisley? Starting August 2006 the SVQ Oral Health Care: Dental Nurse course is recruiting for new students. Within only one year you can become qualified to work within a dental practice and become a vital part of the dental team.
The SVQ Level III programme provides a guaranteed work placement that you can combine with your weekly studies at College. In placement you will learn about a range of patient care services and administrative duties, while at College you can focus on theory and learn about core subjects including Health and Safety, Development of Teams and Chair Side Support. Students commented on their training. “The organised work placement works well as part of this course especially since we have all been offered jobs following our training.” “The course is challenging but rewarding especially in work placement where I have gained a lot of experience.”
Students from previous years programme will be smiling all the way to their work following completion of their course this year. As well as their training at College and work placements, they recently took part in National Smile Week. The Dental students offered advice to College staff and students on aspects of Dental Care, which gave them hands on experience and an opportunity to share their knowledge.
