Michael Canning, head teacher
Formed by the merger of St Brendan's high school in Linwood and St Cuthbert's high school in Johnstone, the new St Benedict's high school has been built to accommodate 850 pupils, with 22 classrooms, 26 practical rooms, a games hall, a gymnasium and a fitness suite.
A major feature of the new school is the massive social and dining area for pupils, designed to encourage them to stay in school at lunchtimes and enjoy healthy school meals. This new area also features a permanent stage with gantry lighting that can that be used for pupil assemblies and performances. The stage is linked to a new recording room and music practice room, providing talented pupils with the best facilities possible.
