A choir of 20 youngsters from Kenya put on an inspirational performance in front of an audience of several hundred people at Paisley Town Hall.
Several hundred people in Paisley Town Hall enjoyed a vibrant performance with the choir singing in both English and their native language. Each song was introduced by a different member of the choir.
Maureen McIntyre co-founded the Samson Chivatsi African Children’s Appeal following a visit to Kenya in 1988. The charity is named after the first child that Maureen and her husband Ian sponsored.
During the Paisley performance, Maureen told the audience about the work of the charity in setting up the school and an orphanage and about their plans for the future.
"Renfrewshire has had strong links with the choir over the years and the council has been proud to play its part in supporting the choir's visit to Scotland this year. The youngsters impressed everyone with the quality of their singing and the sheer joy of their performance."
"At the same time, it was moving to hear about the tremendous work which the charity has achieved and how they could do so much more with more support. So it was all the more encouraging to see so many Renfrewshire people taking the time to support the vital work of the charity through their attendance and their donations."
