Home > News and Events > News - release archive > 2008 > January

Residents in Erskine and surrounding area are the next to benefit from Renfrewshire Council's four-strong, mobile team of Neighbourhood Wardens. The team will be patrolling local streets for the next six weeks, starting on Monday 21 January.

The mobile team work in pairs and will be on patrol from 3pm to midnight, seven days a week.

The team will carry out patrols, report incidents to the Police and Renfrewshire Council's Antisocial Investigations Team (ASIST) and play an important role in helping to fight the fear of crime.

Councillor Brian Lawson, convener of Renfrewshire Council's housing and community safety policy board, said: "Our Neighbourhood Wardens play an important and welcome role in fighting antisocial behaviour. We're urging the community to come forward and provide information that will help us tackle and prevent antisocial behaviour. Any information we receive is treated in the strictest confidence."

Renfrewshire Council's Neighbourhood Wardens can be contacted on 0141 889 3499 or through the Antisocial Behaviour freephone helpline on 0800 169 1283.
