Renfrewshire Council for Voluntary Services (RCVS) is currently putting together a new online database that will offer free access to information on every charity, voluntary organisation and community group in the Renfrewshire area.
RCVS is asking local residents to help make sure no one is accidentally missed out and wants every charity, voluntary organisation and community group in Renfrewshire to get in touch and make sure they're included in the database.
It's completely free for an organisation to be added to the database - representatives are asked simply to contact RCVS information and communications officer Gordon Mclean at gordon.mclean@rcvsweb.co.uk to take advantage of this free publicity and make sure everyone in the area knows about their organisation. Full data protection laws will apply and be strictly adhered to – only relevant details like opening hours, services available and contact information will be made available to the general public.
RCVS will be launching this new online service once a comprehensive list of local charity and voluntary organisations is compiled. Anyone with internet access will be able to use it at no charge.
RCVS exists to help community and voluntary groups in any way we can for the greater good of Renfrewshire's citizens. From securing funding, training staff and running events to handling payrolls, printing and the creation of promotional films, their aim is to help local groups no matter what their needs are. Set up in 2000, RCVS has worked with over six hundred organisations, from small self-help groups to branches of major national charities.
