The head teachers of St Fillan's primary school in Houston and East Fulton and Our Lady of Peace primary schools, both in Linwood, were congratulated by the members of Renfrewshire Council’s education policy board after receiving very positive HMIe reports.
The schools all achieved excellent standards with St Fillan's gaining the best inspection report for a Renfrewshire primary school so far. Inspectors commended the schools on a number of issues including their leadership, partnerships with others and the wider community, and their polite and motivated pupils.
The head teachers were congratulated by the board at its meeting last week, where the schools' HMIe reports were acknowledged.
Councillor Lorraine Cameron, convener of Renfrewshire Council's education policy board, said: "The pupils, staff and parents at these three schools should all feel very proud of these great reports."
"They demonstrate just a sample of the high quality schools we have in Renfrewshire and I am sure we can look forward to many more excellent reports in 2008."
