Recent Scottish Community Foundation grants made in Renfrewshire:

Up-2-Us
£1,143 from the Women's Fund for Scotland
This grant will pay for the group to develop a programme aimed at mothers learning parenting and family skills so that they can rely less on the support of outside agencies.

Home Start Renfrewshire
£3,000 from the Women's Fund for Scotland
This grant will provide part funding for the organisation's family group.

Renfrewshire Family Support Services
£4,354 from the Community Grants Scheme
This grant will pay for 150 therapy sessions and transport and entry to the Ayr Farm Park

Ferguslie Community Nursery Committee
£5,000 from the Community Grants Scheme
This grant will pay for life coach training for 24 young women to enhance the quality of their lives and increase their chances of making positive choices for themselves and their children.

Lamont Farm Project
£2,000 from the Community Grants Scheme
This grant will pay for a project worker's salary, education materials and marketing costs for a project aimed at delivering training opportunities in an outdoor setting to young people aged 12-15.

Lottery grants made in Renfrewshire in January-March 2010:

Renfrewshire Council
£332,119 from the Big Lottery Fund
This project will work with young people aged 16-19 who are leaving care but are not economically active or engaged with any support services. It will specifically three closely related areas of need - isolation, employability and independent living skills. The three-year grant will fund one new full-time Befriending Project Coordinator, and programme running costs including transport, recruitment and office equipment.

Renfrewshire Carers Centre
£273,639 from the Big Lottery Fund
This project will improve the health and well-being of carers over 50 by helping them access information and link with appropriate care services. The three-year grant will fund salaries, training and recruitment, volunteer expenses and office costs.

Johnstone Community Council
£10,000 from the Big Lottery Fund
This group will provide youth club facilities for two separate groups, one for 5-9 year olds and one for 10-16 year olds. The grant will go towards computer games consoles, arts and crafts materials, play equipment and drama lessons.

Braeview Bairns
£1,130 from the Big Lottery Fund
The Bairns will provide an outing for children and carers and a programme of seasonal parties, all designed to reduce isolation and provide recreational activity. The grant will help pay for outing and party costs, stationery and snack equipment.

Houston Primary School Council
£9,851 from the Big Lottery Fund
The school is looking to buy a range of outdoor play equipment for their grounds and this grant money will pay for bus stop signs and playground games, a wooden adventure trail, benches and tables and much more.

Heriot Primary School
£7,957 from the Big Lottery Fund
The school is looking to improve their playground and the grant will pay for the installation of a fitness trail and picnic benches.

Renfrewshire Palliative Care Carers Support Forum
£3,040 from the Big Lottery Fund
This group organises activities, classes and seminars for carers living in Renfrewshire. This grant will help to pay for holistic therapy sessions, an arts and crafts tutor and bus hire for outings.

North End Tenants Group
£3,167 from the Big Lottery Fund
This group arranges a series of social outings designed to reduce isolation and encourage community spirit. The grant will help to pay for a summer outing, a Halloween buffet and Christmas dinner as well as electrical goods, kitchenware and Christmas decorations.

Langbank Playgroup
£1,301 from the Big Lottery Fund
This group will improve resources for young children by purchasing a range of educational toys to enhance development. This grant will pay for educational jigsaws and rugs, remote control cars and multicultural dolls.

Senior Alternatives
£9,873 from the Big Lottery Fund
This is a new group which works with senior citizens with disabilities. This grant will pay for specialised transport, facility hire, meals on outings and entertainment such as tea dance and Christmas dinner.

Farrier Court Sheltered Housing Tenants Association
£3,284 from the Big Lottery Fund
This group will use their grant funding to furnish a newly-installed conservatory with settees, tables, blinds and a television.

Spateston TARA
£10,000 from the Big Lottery Fund
This group will develop an existing unused area into an attractive and functional play area for children and young people, with basketball hoops, climbers and rotators.

Rashielea Primary School
£9,700 from the Big Lottery Fund
The school is looking to redevelop and enhance their existing playground with a sensory garden. This grant will pay for a bound gravel surface with timber edging, fruit trees, bird boxes and a wildflower mound.

Johnstone Phoenix Theatre Group
£8,399 from the Scottish Arts Council
This grant will help the group to buy a keyboard and tiered seating which will allow them to offer better audience facilities.
