Members of the Renfrewshire Child Protection Committee
The Renfrewshire Child Protection Committee (RCPC) brings together all the organisations involved in protecting children in the area.

Its job is to make sure that there are no gaps between child protection teams and that everyone works together to protect children from harm and give them the best possible chance in life.

Senior managers from the council, the police and the health service are all represented on the committee.

"It's everyone's job to make sure that our children are protected. The senior level of those who make up the RCPC shows how seriously we take this issue in Renfrewshire and the co-ordinated efforts that are being directed at making our child protection services as seamless and effective as possible."
Councillor Derek Mackay, leader of Renfrewshire Council

"Keeping our children safe in Renfrewshire requires a co-ordinated multi-agency effort and there are well-established links across the key services in this area. When police officers in Renfrewshire attend reports of domestic, alcohol or drug abuse they will consider the potential for a child to be at risk. If substantiated, our partners' services kick in to protect the long term welfare of the child."
Chief Superintendent John Harkin, divisional commander of Renfrewshire and Inverclyde Division

"Every child in Renfrewshire deserves the very best start in life, and one of the most basic entitlements is to safety and protection. The Community Health Partnership is deeply aware how important this is, and we work closely with our police and council colleagues and other organisations on the RCPC."
David Leese, director of the Renfrewshire Community Health Partnership

The RCPC also includes representatives from Barnardo's, the Children's Panel, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, the Procurator Fiscal's Office and the Scottish Children's Reporter Administration.
